LA Times Photo of Jeff Joseph, Organica Collective operator being arrested
Organica, a California medical marijuana collective located at 13456 Washington Blvd in Culver City, was raided today by Federal DEA Agents. The collective;s operator, Jeff Joseph, was arrested long with possible employees. Organica was raided back in 2008 by the feds for the first time and again in 2009 by joint task force with LAPD, Culver City Police Department, IRS, and Los County Sheriff's Department. Jeff is an outspoken advocate for cannabis reform who has been featured in High Times Magazine and in the documentary, How the Weed Won the West.
Some would think, why would you re-open for the third time after being raided by the DEA? Jeff is a true freedom fighter and willing to take one for the cause. This raid comes at the wake of a Los Angeles ordinance and crack down on medical marijuana dispensaries. This week the DEA also raided a laboratory testing facility in Colorado and a medical marijuana grower. Many are questioning the Obama Adminsitration's new position to no longer arrest and prosecute medical marijuana providers and patients that are following state law.

CBS Rejects Times Square Marijuana Legalization ADPosted by Devin Calloway in Untagged |
With great regret and chagrin to report, CBS has rejected a contract deal with NORML to place a pro-cannabis law reform advertisement on the biggest electronic billboard in Times Square (The CBS ‘Super Screen’ at 42nd St) claiming that the advertisement is too political. NORML had a contract for the 15 second spot below on the giant billboard (and a second one featuring President Obama and New York City’s high cannabis arrest rate with its shocking racial disparity in enforcement).

Tax and Regulate Cannabis 2010, the California ballot initiative that would legalize and regulate marijuana in California, submitted about 700,000 signatures today ensuring its place on the November ballot. California would become the first state in the U.S. to legalize, regulate and tax cannabis for adults 21 and over if passed. Richard Lee, an Oakland cannabis entrepreneur and founder of Oaksterdam University is sponsoring the bill along with Jeff Jones, Executive Director of the Patient ID Center, formally known as the Oakland Cannabis Buyers Cooperative. The two have been instrumental in helping to revitalize downtown Oakland through cannabis based businesses. Oakland is now known as “Oaksterdam,” the Amsterdam of the West.

Iv'e spent all morning watching footage of this horrific incident. These people have suffered and lost everything in a matter of seconds. Homes, churches, and hospitals crushed. Haiti needs to be completely re-built, this will cost millions upon millions. Already many countries have sent supplies and money to help in any way that they can, but will this be enough?
Before the quake over 80% of Haiti people are living underneath the poverty line. 78% of the population live on 2$ a day, its a very poor country. Due to the recent deforestation, their forests have been cut down, leaving them with little building materials, and fuel. What could REALLY save these people?
Send them hemp seeds. With it they can re-build stronger homes, bridges, feed the hungry, and clothe the unclothed. If Haiti were to grow hemp, they could sell it to the world! Hemp production would provide thousands of jobs, and money to a country that really needs it...
