DEA Raids Organica Medical Marijuana Collective for the 3rd Time

LA Times Photo of Jeff Joseph, Organica Collective operator being arrested

Organica, a California medical marijuana collective located at 13456 Washington Blvd in Culver City, was raided today by Federal DEA Agents. The collective;s operator, Jeff Joseph, was arrested long with possible employees.  Organica was raided back in 2008 by the feds for the first time and again in 2009 by joint task force with LAPD, Culver City Police Department, IRS, and Los County Sheriff's Department.  Jeff is an outspoken advocate for cannabis reform who has been featured in High Times Magazine and in the documentary, How the Weed Won the West.

Some would think, why would you re-open for the third time after being raided by the DEA? Jeff is a true freedom fighter and willing to take one for the cause.  This raid comes at the wake of a Los Angeles ordinance and crack down on medical marijuana dispensaries.  This week the DEA also raided a laboratory testing facility in Colorado and a medical marijuana grower.  Many are questioning the Obama Adminsitration's new position to no longer arrest and prosecute medical marijuana providers and patients that are following state law.

CBS Rejects Times Square Marijuana Legalization AD

With great regret and chagrin to report, CBS has rejected a contract deal with NORML to place a pro-cannabis law reform advertisement on the biggest electronic billboard in Times Square (The CBS ‘Super Screen’ at 42nd St) claiming that the advertisement is too political. NORML had a contract for the 15 second spot below on the giant billboard (and a second one featuring President Obama and New York City’s high cannabis arrest rate with its shocking racial disparity in enforcement).

WORDS FROM PS4L

I lived  in Southern California All my life and must say its the most liberal state iv'e been. I would say i had a normal mexican-american childhood. I think that we are going in the right directions but we need just more people to stand up and say whats right fare and not fare. Im at home right now just a normal day.  i woke up did some laundry and cleaned up house a normal everyday thing. Ive had a couple beers now and smoked a couple leafs. and just relaxin on my day off. then my nehphew comes in and tells me someone was stopped by a policeman. There right in front of my house,  just because i smoked something natural that comes from mother earth the government is making me feel uncomfortable about iy what i like to enjoy. WE need to really look into making CALIFORNIA a place where you dont feel uncomforatable doin something thats completley harmless and come from the earth.

Generation Y help reform Cannabis laws, Healthcare, and Politics

Posted by Devin Calloway in Untagged

Devin Calloway
Our generation is not taking an active approach and its time we become proactive. Each of us can have a positive influence in ensuring our FREEdoms. We are fighting a War on Terror and a War on Drugs. Cannabis should not fall into either category. What if the government was fighting a war on health care and medicine (which in fact they are)?

Medical Marijuana is a natural alternative to the chemically synthesized “pharmaceutical narcotics” you find at your local pharmacy. Imagine this, what if you were in a terrible car accident, fractured your spine, and the hospital said it was illegal to prescribe Oxycontins, Percocets, morphine or any of the other pain medication because a gang of “politicians” said so?
We do not need politicians to tell us how to live our lives, especially denying us of a deciduously growing herbal medicine, called Cannabis-Sativa.

If our government really wants to intervene with our health, then please provide FREE healthcare.
At age 13, I tore my meniscus tendons and cartilage in my knee snowboarding. I underwent arthroscopic surgery, and now have severe arthritis. When I was 16 I lost my Father to Lupus erythematosus, the autoimmune disease.  (He too was a medical marijuana user) Following his death I was diagnosed with reactive depression as well as bipolar disorder.  Thankfully, the reactive depression is now gone☺, but not Bi-Polar.  During my adolescent years I was taking an intoxicating amount of medications, including, Depakote, xanex, seroquel, trazadone, wellbutrin, Ritalin, paxel. When I turned 19, insurance stopped paying for these mind control substances.  In order to continue my prescribed dosage, I had to purchase my medicine through a relative who was prescribed the same medications but no longer needed them.  I had to purchase such medication essentially on the black market, because I could no longer afford to pay without insurance.
I am 21 years old and very active.  I love to snowboard, play soccer, lacrosse, and travel.  My mother is widowed and I have fully supported myself since I was 18.  Since my 18th birthday I have had NO Health Insurance.  That means if I end up in the emergency room for anything, I will be up to be eyeballs in big fat debt.  Why? Because of our big business, bi-partisanship government we call a democracy.

It is the same big business that propelled my Mother into clouds of medical debt from my fathers illness that I witnessed my entire childhood.  Because of my fathers disease and the endless amount of medical bills that accrued, they could not borrow a pot to piss in.

Most Americans don't want politicians to tell them how to live their lives. We all have our own unique support systems that are effective to us as individuals.  Whether they consist of friends, family, co-workers, or even *unversal word for religious leader” that help guide us on our arduous journey through life.
Politicians cover their bad lies with great ones, while manipulating the passive nature of the average constituent.  I recall a very accurate comment made by Kevin Nealon (Doug Wilson) to Elizabeth Perkins (Celia Hodes) of the Showtime series WEEDS, “everything in politics is driven by self-interest” Those very same political crooks that repudiate Medical Cannabis have created a backdoor that funds their campaigns, pays for their summer home in the Hamptons, and their cocaine sniffing child’s $120,000 ivy league education.
Believe it or not, we can actually choose between doing good or not. There are positive and negatives values in all of our actions and experiences. If you experience something negative turn it into something positive.  To reform all of the negatives issues in Medical Marijuana, Healthcare, and Politics, all it takes is support, money, and a little out of the box thinking.  If you don’t believe me, all you have to do is research, read, and share your energy.  As many already know, the Internet has brought everyone and endless amounts of free information together at the click of a button.

This is an announcement to all you Facebook, MySpace, and social network junkies out there.  Get out there blog, post, discuss, and become active, support what you believe in.
Lets harness the instantaneous and collaborative power of the World Wide Web to make a positive change in the present and for future generations to come.
